Homemade Pizza Dough

3 cups of All Purpose Flour or Very Strong White Flour

7 grams Dry Active Yeast

2 tsp Sugar

½ tsp salt

3 tbsp Oil

¾ to 1 pint Hot Water


  1. Sieve the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt in a large mixing bowl.

  2. Add the oil, then mix well till the oil has combined. Finally, I sieve the flour again.

  3. Slowly add in hot water and knead the dough using a fork to form a soft dough as the water will be hot.

  4. Divide the dough into two balls, leave the dough to rest for 5 minutes covering with a damp kitchen towel

  5. Work each dough piece with your hands until forming a smooth and even ball, then roll out the dough with a rolling pin then, transfer it into a lightly buttered tray and spread it out with your hand to the edge of the tray and put it in the oven for 6 hours, this will ferment the dough.

  6. It will make 14-inch pizzas or four 7-inch pizzas.

  7. Preheat the oven to 180°C, gas mark 5, and bake the pizzas in the oven for 10-12 minutes until the bases are crisp and golden-brown, then flip the base and spread the homemade tomato pizza sauce over each pizza base and top with your favourite toppings and mozzarella cheese.

  8. Bake for further 10-12 minutes until the cheese has melted.
