Curry Paste

Preparation and Cooking Time: 45 min.


Ingredients:

1 Onion Medium Coarsely Chopped

1 Tomatoes Medium Size Finely Chopped

1 inch Ginger Chopped

4 Cloves Garlic

2 tbsp Fresh Coriander with Stalks and Leaves

2 tbsp Oil

½ tsp Red Chilli Powder

¾ tsp Turmeric Powder

¾ tsp Coriander-Cumin Powder (Dhana Jiru)

1 tsp Mild Curry Powder

¾ tsp Salt


Method:

  1. In a pan heat the oil and add the onions, ginger, garlic, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander-cumin powder, mild curry powder and salt, sauté for 2-3 minutes.

  2. Now add the tomatoes and coriander and 1¼ cup of water. Stir well, bring the mixture to a boil then simmer gently for 35 minutes, occasionally stirring till the sauce is thick.

  3. In the blender, blend the curry paste into a fine puree.

  • The Curry Paste is ready!
