Preparation Time: 8 min. Cooking Time: 20 min. Serves 3-4
1 White Cabbage Head Medium Size
2 Tomatoes Chopped
4 tbsp Oil
1 Dry Red Chilli
¾ tsp Mustard Seeds
½ tsp Cumin Seeds
¼ tsp Asafoetida (Hing)
1 tsp Turmeric Powder
1½ tsp Chilli Powder
1½ tsp Coriander-Cumin Powder (Dhana Jiru)
½ tsp Jaggery (Gōr)
Salt to taste
Wash and shred the cabbage, keeping it about 5mm thick.
Heat oil over medium flame and add the dry red chilli, once hot add the mustard seeds, cumin seeds and asafoetida.
Then add the cabbage, turmeric powder and salt. Mix well, cook for 3-4 minutes stirring occasionally.
Then add the tomatoes and cook almost done stirring occasionally.
Now add the chilli powder and coriander-cumin powder, cover with the lid for about 3 minutes, then stir and cook for further 2-3 minutes.
Enjoy hot with roti and dal bhat!
