Prep Time: 10 minutes Cooking Time: 20 minutes Serves: 2-3
Ingredients
2 Cups Wheat Flour
½ tsp Turmeric Powder
½ tsp Red Chilli Powder
½ tsp Coriander Cumin Powder (Dhana Jiru)
½ tsp Black Pepper
½ tsp Salt
2½ tbsp Oil
Method
In a large mixing bowl add the flour with the turmeric, red chilli powder, dhana jeera, black pepper, salt and oil, mix well until the oil has combined with the flour.
Start with ½ cup of water and knead into a firm and tight dough.
If you find the dough dry, then add more water, about a tablespoon or so, leave the dough to rest for ten minutes.
Divide the dough into small pieces about 2½ cm and shape into round balls.
Roll out the dough into even circles about 7-8 cm which is not too thick or thin.

Meanwhile, heat the oil in a deep frying pan.
Once the oil has become hot, add the puris and fry by pressing down gently to allow it to puff up.

Once puffed, turn over and fry until the puri turns to a light golden brown colour.
